USPS Art Project

I had the opportunity to participate in the USPS Art Project recently with some friends and it turned out to be a blast! This is how it works: an artist starts a piece and mails it to another artist, who then finishes it. Since it needs to be able to go through the US Mail the pieces are smaller and flatter, except for a small canvas that Shirley Arceo sent. It was a lot of fun, and I’m quite pleased with how they all turned out.

The pieces I did with Hema Bharadwaj and Anne Kupillas are also a part of a virtual exhibit at the Pelham Art Center in NY–they are for sale and we are donating any proceeds to the Southern Poverty Law Center and The Sentencing Project. Links to the pieces for sale are here and here.

Other artists I’ve collaborated with are: Sean Quirk, Robyn Bellospirito, and Eileen Ferara.

UPDATE 8/14/20: One of the collaboration pieces I did with Hema was featured in this article by Artnet news: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/quarantine-mail-art-initiative-usps-1902009?
