For real. I haven’t been to the Fountain Valley Skating Center since like 7th grade. But you know what, it hasn’t changed a whole lot. A friend of mine just wanted to go roller skating with a bunch of people while she was in town, and since this was the closest place to us we decided to go for it. My skating on 4 wheels hasn’t gotten any better since 1984, but I sure noticed a lot more interesting characters. They made such an impression on me that I had to commit them to paper. It was like a John Waters movie set at a roller rink.
